Grades: How to Enable Quick Grading

Moodle contains the ability to enable quick grading within the grade book, as well as within individual assessments.

Quick Grading Within the Gradebook

The Grader Report page is the main (default) view of the Moodle grade book. To enter grades without having to click into each assignment, enable the Quick Grading tool.

  1. From the main course page, navigate to the Navigation Drawer and click on the Grades link. *Please note you may have to click the Navigation Drawer to see the Grades link.

  2. Once on the Grader report page, locate and click on the Turn editing on button located in the upper right-hand of the screen.
  3. Additional text elements that allow you to input grades and feedback directly into the table will appear in the grader report table.

  4. Click the Save changes button when finished.

Quick Grading Within an Assignment

Enabling Quick Grading within an assignment allows the instructor to grade all submissions on one screen.

  1. Select the assignment that needs to be graded from the main course page.
  2. Click the View/grade all submissions link.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom and select the checkbox next to Quick grading.
  4. Editable text boxes will appear in the Grade and Feedback comments columns.
  5. Input the grade and feedback comments for the submission directly into the text boxes and click Save all quick grading changes.
